So you’ve decided to sell your home! Getting ready can be a daunting process -

Step One: De-clutter

  • If there is a lot of stuff, Buyers will have a hard time picturing their own items in the home

  • Go through each room and pack up anything “extra” - think of it as a head start on packing!

  • Clear off nightstands, bathroom countertops, showers, kitchen countertops, etc.

Step Two: Identify any repairs that need to be done

  • If Buyers see a lot of repairs needing to be done, they will wonder what other issues there is with the house.

  • Common examples: missing electric faceplates, broken screen slider, burnt out light fixtures, etc.

Step Three: Cleaning

  • Think of a model home - everything is clean and fresh… that is what we are striving for

  • If you have paint, touch ups help. If not, a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser can help a lot.

Step Four: Exterior

  • You’ll never get a second chance to make a first impression

  • Clean cobwebs out of eaves, consider power washing the outside if it is dusty, trim landscaping, etc.
